Restoration of Chinese Screen

   Chinese folding screens were culturally a part of most households especially in and throughout Asia starting originally in China. In  the gentry households the applications were from applying a sense of privacy to partitioning a room or covering certain features of the room. They were also used to limit drafty conditions in the house. They also became  very popular as an expression of art with many scenes depicted by any artist of great talent    This folding screen has glazed panels and was badly damaged when we received it .
It has four glazed in panels with classical lacquered frame work . Here you see the finished result of the restoration
